JEAN COCTEAU (1889-1963)

French writer, poet, film maker and artist known for such works as the ballet Parade (a collaboration with Pablo Picasso and Eric Satie) and the films Blood of a Poet and Beauty and the Beast. He commented insightfully and poetically that Modigliani turned his sitters into Modiglianis. A Modigliani portrait of Cocteau is featured in the exhibition.
